I went and listened to Lia Banks give her presentation on her research paper titled: “Using the Cognitive Theory to Teach Students with Special Needs.” I had no idea what or who I was going to listen to when I went into the room, all I knew is that I was going to get extra credit. And to be honest, I wasn’t very excited because I thought it was going to be really boring. But when I heard her title, I was intrigued. This is exactly the kind of topic that I am interested in, and I was glad that I was there.
I actually used to work with autistic children and this is where I came up with the base for my research paper. Lia was a great speaker and she had a very interesting topic to talk about. I’m glad that you told us to go there for extra credit or else I never would have gotten to listen to her theory.
